Good Morning Church Family!

Hello Church Family!

There is a lot of exciting news in the life of our church.

  • Last week the Pelletier children raised over $200 for their mission projects.  It’s great when children serve the Lord.

  • Speaking of missions don’t forget that we are giving to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering that goes to support North American Missions.

  • We have begun adult sign-ups to work at Vacation Bible School.  Don’t forget to sign-up to serve the Lord and children.

  •  Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital has supplied Gethsemane with English Standard Version pew Bibles.  I’m thankful for the provision of those Bibles.

  • Several pastors associated with the Northwood Family of Churches met yesterday with Dr. Pete Link from Charleston Southern University. Dr. Link helped us think through our next sermon series from the Old Testament Book of Proverbs.  This will be a beneficial and practical sermon series.

  • On April 7 we will formally join the Northwood Family of Churches.  On Celebration Sunday we will start out our worship service by rehearing the recommendation from the Transition Team to formally join the Northwood Family of Churches.  We will have a chance to affirm that recommendation without discussion by a show of hands by Covenant Members present and then we will praise God the rest of the day!  After the 11:00 a.m. service we will have a covered dish supper to celebrate our new path forward. Jeff Hartman will be cooking our meat again.  We will have jump castles and games for children.  Invite your friends, family, and neighbors to this special day. I have invited several friends and my parents to come that day to help us celebrate our new path forward!   Once again if you have any questions about joining the Family of Churches, the name change, and the new by-laws feel free to reach out between now and April 7.

  • This coming Sunday we will wrap up our series from the Gospel of Luke.  We have been in this series since December of 2022.  This Sunday also beings Holy Week. Sunday is when Christians observe Palm Sunday.  This Sunday we will have a special time of prayer at our 11:00 a.m. worship service.

  • On Thursday, we will have a Maundy Thursday Service at 6:30 p.m. where we will share the Lord’s Supper.  There will be no childcare for this service, but all children of all ages are welcome.

  • On Easter Sunday we will have Life Connection Groups at 9:30 a.m. but no Children’s Church.  We will have nursery that day.  There will be no Sunday evening activities on Easter.

Grace to you,
Pastor Jay
