Good Morning Church Family!

I thank my God in all my remembrance of you,  always in every prayer of mine for you all making my prayer with joy,  because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now.

Paul writes to the church at Philippi and expresses thanks for their partnership in the Gospel.  It is important for believers to partner with one another so the Good News of Jesus Christ can be spread. I am so excited about the future of our congregation. We are making the decision to partner with other churches to radically cooperate with other churches to help plant and replant churches. On April 7th we get to formally ratify our entrance into the Northwood Family of Churches.  Gethsemane will be first church to be replanted and join this family of churches. We are hoping this will help begin a movement in the Lowcountry, South Carolina and across the Southern Baptist Convention.  As part of the Northwood Baptist Family of Churches we will adopt a new name, bylaws, and will continue the philosophy of ministry we have been practicing for over a year now.  Gethsemane and our new church family is mentioned in the following Connecting Faith to Life Podcast.   Pastor Tommy, Pastor Trey, and Pastor Mark Hallock from Denver talk the partnership that a family of churches brings.  Check it out.

We support missions.  Don’t forget to give to the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering that goes to support North American Missions.  Some of Josh and Gen Pelletier’s children attend Northwood Academy.  The children are raising money for a missions’ project.  They will be having a bake sale on March 17 to help raise money for their mission projects.  Adeline is supporting Wings International and Asher and Adrien are in preschool and participate.  We want our children early on to get in the habit of supporting and doing missions.  If you have a few extra cash dollars bring them March 17 and help support the kids support missions.

On March 28th of Holy Week, we will have a Maundy Thursday Service at 6:30 p.m.  We will share the Lord’s Supper together.  On Easter we will have Life Connection Group, nursery, a family worship service at 11:00 a.m. but no children’s church that day.

Don’t forget on April 7th we will have Celebration and Ratification Sunday.  We will have a covered dish meal after our 11:00 a.m. worship service to celebrate joining the Northwood Family of Churches.

Grace to you,
Pastor Jay
